Afternoon Vibes: Jamiroquai - Blue Skies

*just another laid-back afternoon, spent the day watching the blue sky turned into darker ones~

So these are the figurines
Acting out all the scenes before my eyes
I thought I knew them all by name
But they started looking much the same
And it’s no surprise

But I don’t wanna listen
Too much
How can I give up on all the days I know I’ve won
There’s nothing but rainbows
I believe in the shadows

Now honey
Thought I might be dropping out
But now I am gonna work it out
I am gonna work with me
I am runnin’ like it never loose
Then I’m rolling like a rusty ship on a stormy sea

You know that people are saying
Strange things
Talk to the hand ’cause I know you think the face is gone
I don’t wanna listen
Too much
I’m not gonna give up on all the days I know I’ve won
There’s nothing but blue sky
There’s nothing but blue sky

Nothings gonna stop me now
I am skimming like a skipping stone on a silver lake
I take it when the chips are down
But to play the perfect happy clown
You gotta make a mistake (gotta make mistakes)

People are saying
Strange things
And I don’t wanna listen (I don’t wanna listen)
Too much yeah
Nothing but blue sky
Blue Sky

How can I tell you I know this wont be the last song
I don’t wanna listen (I don’t wanna listen)
Too much
Not gonna give up on the days I know I’ve won

That’s where I am going
’Cause there is nothing nothing but blue sky
That’s where I am going
Nothing but
Rainbows falling down on me... uh yeah hey

Nothing but blue sky
Can’t you see
That’s where I am going
Got to believe me
That’s where I am going
Blue skies
That’s where I am going
Blue skies
That’s where I am going

CILOK: SUBURBAN LOVE FOR AN AMATEUR SUBURBAN GEEK.

you might think I'm outta my mind or being mentally ill, but, one thing for sure, I was just, like, err, you know, having this kind of relatively permanent disorder of the mind. Oh no, not again.

cilok is an abbreviation of aCI dicoLOK. Originated from West Java, now it ubiquitously and pervasively spreads out all over Java, or may be , Indonesia. It is made from starch dough. The super-duper-stitious notion told us that the name Cilok came out as a result of the main ingredient of the food itself, which is starch, and the way we eat it up; using a kind of bamboo skewer.

there are like hundreds kinds of cilok. I have seen and tasted "Cilok Asmara" in ITC BSD. it's just another cilok, but the seller has successfully over-persuaded the target market and over-exaggerate the name of the product. well, uhm, lemme see.. we have Fried Cilok, Grilled Cilok, Cilok Bandung, Filled Cilok, etc. My 'honeybite' is Cilok Goreng. I once tasted Cilok Goreng for the very first time when I was in Bandung. I was about to go to Dipati Ukur to eat Surabi Bandung, but apparently I took the wrong way and had to stay for hours waiting for the angkots. It was a gloomy Satnite *HOW GREAT THOU ART* I waited for you, LOL, not you, I mean, the angkots. This lovely tummy couldn't be compromised, so at a glimpse I stopped at a Fried Cilok stall in front of PVJ. It was just unforgettable nighty nite with the Fried Cilok......... that I realized I have just fallen in love, AGAIN, A-FRIGGING-GAIN.. Thanks to cilok brother-sisterhood splattered all around Java. I could eat you up like a chocolate chunk. Eat you up. You'll dig it. Truly, madly, deeply. Like for eternity.

Here's a secretively open recipe for Cilok Goreng Bandung. The best cilok I've been craving forever like ever.

I N G R E D I E N T S
For The Cilok:
  • 200 grams starch
  • 200 grams wheat
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon broth powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 chopped chive stalks
  • 400 ml water, for the dough
  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the Peanut Sauce :
  • 150 grams grind roasted peanut
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • salt
  • warm water to thin out the sauce

D I R E C T I O N S
Peanut Sauce :
  • Mix the ingredients all together.
  • Whisk well until the sugar has dissolved and the peanuts are thoroughly distributed.
  • Cook for 3-4 mins in medium heat until it gets thicken.
  • add some chilies if you like it

The ULTIMATE FRIED CILOK :

  1. First thing first, combine the starch, wheat, chopped chives, and garlic. Mix evenly until they're perfectly combined.
  2. Boil 400 ml water, add some salt, broth powder, and pepper.
  3. Pour the boiled broth into the flour mixture little by little. Stir slowly until the dough dull enough to be mold.
  4. Take a tablespoon of the dough, mold it with yer bare hands. It's up to you to mold the dough into whatever shape. If I may suggest, make a Saturn-look-a-like cilok, which has a ring on it. No, kidding.
  5. Boil your teeny tiny pieces of heaven, no, I mean, cilok, into a saucepan of boiled water. It will be floating to the surface if it's well-done cooked. Drain the well-done cooked cilok for about 2 mins before you steam it.
  6. Soon after you finished steaming the ciloks, you can directly deep fried them, or just served them with splashes of peanut sauce. YUM!

CILOK
~CHEWY, DEWY, YUMMY~
It's simply massive, addictive, and explosive.

This photo was taken back in 2010. Where? You know where? The Mud Lake of Lapindo - Sidoarjo, East Java.

Hail O', June!

Half the year is watching me...
Time indeed runs fast like a bullet ripping off your skin..
Left you puzzled..
Laughed at you, mother muffled..
Hold on, still, dear self!
Enjoy every breath you take, every move you make..

"If what one finds is made of pure matter, it will never spoil. And one can always
come back. If what you had found was only a moment of light, like the explosion of a
star, you would find nothing on your return." -- Coelho.

instantly got ear-gasm and eye-gasm.
OH, MAN!

seriously, as the end result of a succession
after 9 years fan-girling, I WATCHED SORE's LIVE PERFORMANCE!!!
T'was just totally MAGNIFYING!!!

I got Sore's newest album, contains their selected tracks and one new song entitled "SSSST..."

I also took some photographs with 'em!
HEAVEN.........
Lemme hear you sing!
"...and I'm so GLAD you're mine..."

with Bang Ade.. :))

with Bang Awan.. :))
He noticed my Beatles' Hello-Goodbye Tees.
Thanks to dhimagine for giving me this bloody awesome tees FOR FREE :))
Bang Awan said, "KAOSNYA KEREN!"

IN THE LIMELIGHT!
with Bang Echa.. :))
He's undoubtedly kindhearted and very pretty yet soooooo extraordinarily handsome!!!

oh, those photos of my foolish-looking face!
what's being a truly lamentable state was that I couldn't have any chance to take another foolish-looking face with Bang Bemby..

I was on my 11th grade at that time, when I first peripherally listened to "Somos Libres". It was back in 2005, as I withdrew. I began to unconsciously sing the song by no means. It turned out to me that I soon began savoring the song's radically distinctive ambiance and conspicuous harmony.
ATM, we still had MTv on the national television channel. I ran into this video clip of "Somos Libres" and I found out that Sore was the band behind those pleasingly music.
I started to request "Somos Libres" in one of capitalistic youth-segmented radio in Solo. Even one of the radio DJ noticed me since I always requested the same song. One evening, (Wednesday, October 25th, 2006) my ex surprisingly came to my house bringing me a bouquet of red roses and Sore's very first album, "CENTRALISMO"

MUEHEHE, I used to call him, "My Bxx" :P

SORE - Indonesian Indie Band Symphonizing Oldie Goldie Pop Sound

from my own way of regarding topics, as a common people who don't really perceive and comprehend the nature and significance of musicality, I was simply being hypnotized by Sore's euphony. Sore is a Jakarta-based indie band that is totally unique and outstanding. They classify their music genre as "Indonesiana Rock Revival" and I don't really get it. Their musical variety is just indescribable. It's exceptionally beyond a kind of sort; they are one of a kind, at least for me. LOL.

They are heavily influenced by The Beatles, Morrissey, Steely Dan, Interpol, Gino Vannelli, Frank Zappa, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, Procol Harum, America, Paul Simon, Burt Bacharach, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Ludwig van Beethoven, Masaru Satoh, Krzysztof Komeda, Michael Franks, Gil Evans. Enriched by similarly obsecure harmony from  Eggstone, Andrew Bird, Arcade Fire, Badly Drawn Boy, Last Shadow Puppets, Beirut, The Wondermints.

Their music is a pleasing combination of elements in a whole which is adorned by any melodious strings and brass instruments. Sore comprises 4-main members who are all multi-instrumentalist and are able to play their guitars and bases left-handed-ly. Some of them deliberately claimed their-selves ambidextrous. (I can't remember, either Ade, Echa, Awan, or Ade and Echa, or Awan and Echa, haha, nervermind). All of the members take part as vocalist, too. To a very great extent, it's so obviously mind-blogging having different vocals divulging different tones wrapped in one album. PERPLEXING!

SORE's first album received mostly critical receptions. The Time Magazine Asia admitted the existence of 'CENTRALISMO' as "One of Five Asian Albums Worth Buying", and ranked number 40 in "150 Greatest Indonesian Albums of All Time" in the Rolling Stone Indonesia magazine. Their second album entitled 'PORTS OF LIMA' (Aksara Records - 2008) got great critical acclaim. It was voted "Best Album of 2008' (number one) by the Rolling Stone Indonesia magazine.

Sore, first renowned.

from left to right: Bemby Gusti Pramudya, Ade Firza Paloh, Awan Garnida, Ramondo Gascaro, and Reza Dwiputranto. Additional player: Dono Firman.

Sore, nowadays.

Mondo left the band to concentrate on his own project.

my favorite tracks:

*Centralismo*
Mata Berdebu
Somos Libres
No Fruits for Today
Etalase
Lihat

*Ports of Lima*
Bogor Biru
Senyum dari Selatan
ESSENSIMO
Setengah Lima
Vrijeman
Apatis Ria
Karolina

IMHO, Sore is not merely a band; it's a cult. It's my object of such devotion. It serves me that kind of disposition, a strong feeling; implies some control over my own thinking, actions, and emotions.

 udah ah, cape!
yuk mari, ngopi!
wassalam!
:))

"How happy is the blameless vestal's lot! The world forgetting by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! Each pray'r accepted and each wish resign'd." -- The Poem "Eloisa to Abelard" by Alexander Pope.
The quote I picked was actually about a story of tragic love affair, where forgetfulness became the heroine's only comfort. I don't take it way too serious. Those lines were my favorite ones ever since I watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. We're forgetting by we forgot. At least it could lessen our burdens. :)
